Featured Position: Field Service Engineer - Nationwide

Founded in 1981, NCE is a UK based company (with US offices), who offer the complete Data Storage solution by combining the skills of their service division (offering both depot and field service for storage products). With the knowledge of their solutions team, who architect and integrate Data Storage & Virtualisation solutions to address the unique requirement of each business.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

We currently have a requirement for a number of Field service engineers (nationwide). The candidate will need a proven track record and
need to demonstrate communications and customer facing skills. The Candidate will be required to work within strict customer driven
SLAs. The successful candidate will be based from home.

The Package will be based on the experience of the individual but will include a company issued vehicle. The successful candidate will also provide cover on an out of hours rota currently 1 week in 4.

Position Title: Call Controller - Field Service
Date: 01 January 2012
Working from NCE offices based in Calne, the successful applicant will have supervisory experience, ideally in a Call Centre
environment. An excellent telephone manner and IT Skills are a pre-requisite as is an organised approach to work and the ability to work
under pressure and respond effectively to constantly changing priorities.

NCE Field Service is a growing and busy department, working to strict deadlines to meet customers' service level agreements.
 
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
 
-  Log new calls on NCE’s database
-  Liaise with customers and Field Service engineers
-  Liaise with Technical Support engineers
-  Liaise with Stores and Workshop personnel
-  Update database with status and all information and ensure all parties are informed
-  Co-ordinate parts supply and engineer attendance to customer sites 
-  Ensure customer Service Level Agreements are met
-  Track stock with engineers and customers
-  Track the whereabouts of field personnel
-  Ensure that all administrative procedures are followed
-  Produce fault reports as and when required
-  Participate in Technical Services morning meetings
-  Any other duties which may from time to time be requested by your Manager or NCE Director
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
 
- Ability to handle difficult customer situation
- Call Centre experience
- Professional and assertive telephone manner
- Confidence to make quick decisions
- Accurate and fast keyboard skills
- Some technical knowledge or ability to understand technical instructions
- Commercial awareness
Hours of Work:
 
- Basic hours are 37.5 hours per week. The Call Centre is open between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and you will be
required to rotate with others in the department to cover these hours.
- Occasional overtime may be required which will be paid. 
- 20 days per annum paid holiday plus 8 statutory Bank Holidays.

Position Title: Senior Technical Support Engineer

architect and integrate Data Storage & Virtualisation solutions to address the unique requirement of each business. 
 
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
 
Due to sustained growth, we are actively seeking to recruit a Senior Technical Support Engineer to work in our Technical Services 
Department.  This will be predominantly based at our head offices in Calne, Wiltshire but there will be a requirement to travel
within the UK 
from time to time - sometimes at a moments notice!  Flexibility is key.

- Provide 3rd-line telephone technical support to field engineers and customers wherever required
- Identify and prepare field service parts for despatch to site or engineer
- Evaluate and understand new products for training purposes
- Provide training to Field Service Engineers
- Be available for out of hours telephone support and participate in Duty Manager Rota
- Ensure that all anti-static precautions have been taken
- Update NCE database with call status information and ensure all parties are informed
- Provide technical reports where required
- Participate in Technical Services meetings
- Any other duties which may from time to time be requested by your Manager or NCE Director.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
 
Candidates will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of SAN infrastructure and have strong experience of hardware break/fix
and/or configuration in at least two of the following product families:-

SAN, NAS, DAS, Tape Libraries, SAN switches.

NCE offer a true multi vendor, on-site hardware break/fix service covering many manufacturers; candidates will be able to
demonstrate a strong
knowledge of at least two of these.  Further detail to be discussed via initial telephone interviews with prospective candidates.
Knowledge of HP EVA, MSA and NETAPP will be a distinct advantage.
Hours of Work:
 
Standard hours of work are 09:00 to 17:30.

You will be expected to participate in the out of hours Duty Manager rota which will be 1 week in 5.

Position Title: SENIOR BENCH ENGINEER

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
 
The successful applicant will be a good team player with exceptional
 diligence and attention to detail. Some customer liaison will be required
 and also the training and support of Junior Technicians.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
 
This position requires in-depth experience in PSUs and PCB repair
 and familiarity with SMT rework down to component level. It would
 be an advantage to understand the principles of data storage and
have worked as a Bench Technician or Field Engineer previously. 

Qualifications desired are Comptia A+ /N+ Manufacturer Certified, BTEC HNC

9am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday
