The NCE Virtualisation Event takes to the stage at Wembley Stadium

Tuesday 26th June, 2007, saw the stunning new Wembley Stadium play venue to the much anticipated NCE Virtualisation Snapshots Event, giving visitors a comprehensive insight and first hand experience into the world of storage and server virtualisation.

The NCE Virtualisation Snapshots event was and still is so far the UK’s only dedicated data storage and server Virtualisation event, providing visitors with the opportunity to see the most comprehensive range of Virtualisation solutions from all the leading suppliers.

Choosing a venue such as Wembley Stadium’s Royal Suite, proved a breathtaking backdrop for an event show-casing this active sector of the IT industry.

The morning session saw Keynote Speakers from Server Virtualisation companies as varied and diverse as VMware, Platespin, Vizioncore and Thinstall take to the stage, demonstrating each company’s unique contribution to this area.

Lunchtime gave visitors the chance to peruse the exhibitor stands, benefit from one to one conversations with the vendors and of course enjoy the delights available in the form of the buffet!

Delegates also took the opportunity to take a step outside and grace the tiers of the Royal Box to take in the stunning view of the stadium, from the same point that William and Harry watched the recent Concert for Diana, and where a member of Royalty will once again hand the World cup over to the English football team (we can wish, cant we?)

Special Guided tours were then orchestrated, allowing visitors to soak in the Wembley atmosphere from a number of different locations. Each Tour group visited sections of the impressive 3km of public concourse and saw exclusive sights such as the players changing rooms and entrance tunnel, before taking a well earned rest on one of the 90,000 seats to the East of the stadium- one of the most spectacular views the Stadium has to offer.

The afternoon session was the ‘kicked off’ by a presentation by Datacore Software - a company that’s had a longstanding relationship with NCE, with a product (SAN Melody) that’s vital for Flexible, scalable Storage Virtualisation technology.

The Honda Racing F1 Team then took to the stage to offer a compelling insight into the dynamic world of Formula One racing, captivating the audience, by providing an extensive understanding of how Storage Virtualisation has made the difference to Honda’s constantly evolving IT infrastructure.

All in all, the event proved to be a great success, the visitor feed back comments spoke for themselves. (see above)

The next NCE Storage Show will take place mid September at the Honda Racing F1 Team’s Operation Centre, Brackley (Northants). The Storage and Server Virtualisation Show will give you a comprehensive insight as to how Virtualisation can work within your IT environment.
