We are delighted to share the news about NCE’s latest accreditation from SafeContractor for our commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety. SafeContractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme, which recognises very high standards in health and safety management amongst UK contractors.
The company’s application for the accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. SafeContractor accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to attract new contracts and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.
Under the SafeContractor scheme, NCE was required to undergo a vetting process, which examines health and safety procedures and the company’s track record for safe practice. As a company meeting these high standards, we are now included on a Safecontractor’s database, which is accessible to registered users via their website.
Over 210 major, nation-wide businesses, from several key sectors, have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services such as maintenance, refurbishment or electrical and mechanical work, what gives NCE a great opportunity to gain new contracts and showcase the business to new prospects.
Sue Genever, Quality & Training Manager at NCE commented: “We are very proud to once again gain our Safecontractor accreditation. NCE is committed to the health and wellbeing of all of our employees, and implementing safe work practices that protect employees and others at our work locations is a value that is very important to us, and an integral part of our ethos and organizational culture. We recognize that accident prevention, productivity and quality of performance go hand in hand, and it is a fundamental part of our Quality Management system.”
John Kinge, technical director of SafeContractor said, "Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place."
"More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that NCE has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.”
Big thank you to the whole team for helping with achieving this accreditation, especially Sue Genever, NCE Quality & Training Manager for leading the process.
