NCE’s service for the disposal of surplus and redundant ICT equipment meets all of the requirements of the hazardous Waste Regulations and exceeds targets imposed by the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive.

Ordering and Collection

NCE can provide all the necessary personnel, equipment and vehicles to load and transport the equipment safely. Equipment collections from the site are confirmed against an inventory provided by the customer or against a tally, by pallet load, agreed between the site representative and our operative at the time of collection. Our combined collection/ delivery/ Hazardous Waste Consignment Note provides your ‘Duty of Care’ documentation.

Receipt and audit

Receipt processing and storage is undertaken at a secure warehouse and technical service locations.
Equipment is audited and bar-coded and audit reports are prepared.

Assessment

Equipment is assessed into two categories:

• Reuse: NCE aims to make maximum use of the equipment. Equipment assessed for reuse is taken in to stock for resale- through the NCE PEP process.

• Recycling: items offered as “waste” or assessed as unsuitable for reuse are treated and recycled in accordance with legislation and ICER Codes

Methods and equipment for data destruction on removable media

NCE has a strict policy to ensure that all data on tapes, optical disks & other removable media is destroyed on receipt in the workshops.  All magnetic media that is jammed in drives will be removed from the drive, then degaussed and finally physically destroyed.  Any optical media such as CD’s & DVD’s will be physically destroyed.  MO media will be treated as magnetic media.

Administration and reporting

We provide “Duty of Care” waste collection notes certificates of data destruction and audit, recycling and sales reports from our contractor’s bespoke database.

Responsibilty

NCE assumes responsibility for residual data and environmental disposal issues for all your equipment once it’s removed from your premises.
