Position Available: Field Service Engineer- Atlanta area

NCE Computer Group, a global service provider specializing in Data Center Service and Repair solutions is looking to strengthen our US Service Team. There exists immediate opening for a Field Service Engineer based in Atlanta, GA.  

Job requirements: provide hardware break-fix for IBM and SUN Enterprise level servers and disk storage. A plus if knowledgeable in STK disk storage arrays and tape libraries. The ideal candidate is a motivated and energetic service orientated professional, with great communication and outstanding customer service skills. Selected candidates will be a self-starter, must be able to work independently, as well as efficiently within a larger team. Additional requirement of the job is to have an insured vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. 

Please do not respond unless you have at least 5 years experience servicing IBM, Sun, HP, Dell Systems or STK Tape Storage hardware platforms. 
 
Responsibilities
• Provide computer hardware diagnosis
• Repair, configure and install computer hardware
• Establish and grow effective service relationships with assigned customer base Ideal Qualifications
• At least 5 years Field Service experience
• A+ and N+ Certification
• Experience and knowledge with STK SILO and VSM, Quantum, ADIC and Qualstar Libraries

Position Available: Senior IBM Mainframe Support Analyst/Technical Support Supervisor

NCE Computer Group, a global service provider specializing in Data Center Service and Repair solutions, is looking to strengthen our US Service Team. Since its inception in 1981, NCE has prided itself in delivering superb customer service covering a vast array of equipment while emerging as a leader in the Data Storage and Server industry.

There exists an immediate opening for a Senior IBM Mainframe Support Analyst/Technical Support Supervisor in the San Diego area.

  • College Degree preferred but will consider applicants having equivalent work-related experience

with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum of seven years technical experience in an IBM z-Series Mainframe environment
  • Technical knowledge and proficiency with IBM MVS, VTAM, TSO, HCD, IOCDS, MVSCP
  • Technical knowledge and experience with ATL environment
  • Proficiency of TCP/IP and SNA network protocols
  • Knowledge and experience with PCs, LAN protocols and connectivity (Ethernet and Token Ring)
  • Experience with Tape Silo Technologies (STK)
  • Proficiency with ESCON and FICON infrastructure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain priorities
  • 3-year experience in a role involving direct customer contact (internal and external customers)
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds as needed for test set up
  • Must be a self-motivated team player and able to immediately contribute to a fast paced, deadline intensive environment
  • Proficiency in Windows based applications, WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and VISIO
  • Must have an insured vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Must be able to work weekends, shift and/or rotational schedule as required

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a technical support staff
  • Provide IBM Mainframe support to NCE customers
  • Provide high-level technical support & problem determination/resolution to NCE Customer Service Engineers
  • Anticipate and prevent recurrence of issues
  • Track and update micro code and firmware
  • Assist with equipment installation/relocation
  • Assist in training and mentoring NCE Customer Service Engineers
  • Provide Documentation for testing activities
  • Provide Documentation for assigned projects
  • Identify and coordinate all IBM Mainframe service activities and objectives
  • Maintain current hardware inventory
  • Provide Layer-1 Network support
  • Assist with Hardware installation and relocations
  • Conduct Testing Services support as required
  • Perform the functions of Duty Manager as necessary
  • Establish and grow effective service relationships with assigned customer base
  • Additional duties as assigned
